About freight transport by rail
Transportation of all types of cargo by rail
LTG Cargo organises all types of freight transport by rail in Lithuania and on international routes: we effectively transport conventional, oversized and intermodal cargo according to the individual needs of each customer.
Operation on various gauge railways
We operate on both European gauge (1 435 mm) and broad gauge (1 520 mm) railways. The experience gained from operating two-standard railway tracks provides opportunities to pursue business development projects and offer a wide range of routes to our customers.
Benefits of intermodal transport
For customers who want the advantages of both road and rail, we offer an intermodal service. It is one of the most environmentally friendly and efficient freight transport solutions, where semi-trailers or containers are loaded onto a train platform using special equipment. LTG Cargo can offer transport on a well-developed railway infrastructure and a wide range of container train services: transport and maintenance services available both in Lithuania and other European countries.
Solutions for all customer needs
LTG Cargo operates the largest fleet of rolling stock in the Baltic States: more than 6,000 wagons of various types and about 90 containers. The company offers its customers freight transport solutions that best meet their needs. The technical condition of the wagons is maintained by a team with extensive experience and professional expertise.

Intermodal transport: an environmentally friendly solution for your business
Intermodal transport: an environmentally friendly solution for your business

Intermodal transport is one of the most sustainable freight transportation solutions, as the majority of the journey is completed by rail. A single rail ton-kilometer generates up to six times fewer CO₂e emissions than trucks. This advantage is reflected in Lithuania’s transport sector data: although railways move substantial volumes of freight, their CO₂e emissions represent only a small fraction of those generated by heavy-duty road transport. It is a solution that delivers value for both business and the environment.
