Mindaugas Skunčikas to head new Sales and Intermodality Development Division at LTG Cargo
LTG Cargo, the LTG Group's rail freight transport company, is merging its service sales and development and intermodality divisions to ensure more efficient management of the organization. The new division, Sales and Intermodality Development, will be headed by Mindaugas Skunčikas.
"We estimate that last year, LTG Cargo's share of local transport grew by 4.4 percent, accounting for 62 percent of all freight transported by rail. This shows that we are a reliable partner for business and that it is easy to work with us. We are continuing to diversify our business towards the West and aim to become leaders in the North-South corridor. We expect the head of the new division to attract new customers and cargo, strengthen relationships with existing customers in both the intermodal and bulk cargo segments, and create effective, customer-focused services," says Eglė Šimė, head of the rail transport company.
M. Skunčikas, who previously held the position of Head of Intermodality and International Business Development, is also a member of the board of LTG Cargo's subsidiary in Poland, LTG Cargo Polska, and joined the rail transport company in 2021 as Head of New Service Development in the Business Development Department.
"Over the past three years, our team has been working on developing new intermodal services and attracting related investments. This change will allow us to utilize the best practices and experience I have gained in the rail freight forwarding business, as well as to better meet customer expectations not only in intermodal transport, but also in other services provided by LTG Cargo," says M. Skunčikas, Head of Sales and Intermodal Development at LTG Cargo, about the changes.
As LTG Cargo diversifies its business into Western markets and focuses on developing new opportunities abroad, a new division is being established – International Business Development. The selection process for the position of head of this division is currently underway.
